Reducing Inflation Will Come at a Great Cost: Stagflation

- AnimalMuppet 4y agoIn particular, what is stagflation? It's inflation plus stagnation, inflation without growth. So reducing inflation will cost growth and maybe lead to stagnation, OK. Reducing inflation enough to cause stagnation will leave us still having enough inflation to qualify as stagflation? Unlikely. I lived through the 1970s. This is unpleasant, but back then "stagflation" had 14% inflation.
