    The article says that the fired employees were otherwise employed at the company, including in software engineering, and did these things on a volunteer basis.

  The big automakers increasing their electric car output hit Tesla really hard in their huge regulatory credits business. Also considering the US is getting ever closer to recalling autopilot means they are going to need to save their pennies.

  Elon Musk is slowly becoming more meme than person. I’m not knowledgeable on EV’s but judged by popularity Tesla makes great cars. However I’d be very nervous if my retirement money was invested in a company with a CEO as fickle as Musk.
