Habits Maketh the Man and Un-Maketh Him, Too
- belval 4y agoI read that book (Atomic Habits) and frankly this article summarize the main points quite well. 1. Start small 2. Make habits part of your personality (you don't have to workout, you are someone who works out) 3. Repetition makes it easier (Do it even when you don't want to and it will get progressively easier) I feel like all of those are somewhat obvious in hindsight but it's nice to see them formalized.
- stanrivers 4y agoI have found the idea of making the time for something, even if you don’t do that thing, is helpful; like, I started making myself sit in my mini gym for thirty minutes without a phone, and at first I probably only did fifteen minutes of stuff… now it’s a useful time
- ramesh31 4y agoThis is a self-help book ad
- tomjen3 4y agoYou are not necessarily wrong, but the book is based on solid science and math.
- stanrivers 4y agoKind of, but aren’t most things that talk about something someone made or did the same? Or if you reference a scientific journal and a study, is that all that different? It’s a summary of the book and saying that these are the takeaways on how the brain works around habits. Does that maybe prompt people to buy it? Yes… but is that the purpose, probably not?

- smegsicle 4y agoyour implication that women need someone's permission to do as they please is a bit outdated in today's society
