Yeah, it's pathetic. Here's your standard NextDoor headline:
HOMELESS MAN LOOKED AT MY DOG AGGRESSIVELY
Then you have a bunch of insipid suck-ups piling on in the comments, with "Oh I'm so sorry this happened to you!" "So glad you're OK!"

- harpersealtako 4y agoThat just sounds like old people talking to each other, I don't see the problem. That kind of small-talk would be commonplace in any small-town diner. In a quiet neighborhood where nothing happens, literally anything is gossip-worthy. Not every online has to be maximally interesting content, sometimes it's fine if it's just old people talking about the weather.
- NonNefarious 4y agoOr, in many cases, you could view it as mollycoddling and encouraging hysteria and NIMBYism. It doesn't have to be interesting, but the endless repetition of the same caterwauling need not be fawned over and encouraged.
