Chines censorship wants to prereview all comments on social media before publish
- hunglee2 4y agothis is basically the 'Sacha Baron Cohen' solution, making platforms liable for user posts inevitably requires pre-post review. Hence, however distasteful it may be, we have to lean toward free speech vs censorship in every case.
- raxxorraxor 4y agoHeh, western nations are plainly jealous of that, they are no opposition. The EU just legalized mass surveillance data analysis retrospectively for the data Europol already gathered illegally. They also want to be able to decrypt chats on social media. This is no incompetence, it is malice. They have enough specialists that explained the consequences of these policy decisions.
- hunglee2 4y agoEU doesn't know what it is doing IMO, I suspect that they do indeed have citizen interest at heart, but they will end up in the same place as the PRC, which has CPC interests at heart. Even US might end up looking like this - anyone arguing that 'social networks are publishers' are basically endorsing the China line
