@jbreckmckye. Agreed. It is complicated. I have created stand alone static sites on Digital ocean using nothing more than rSync and some shell commands. In larger firms, where you're locked into a vendor and need to add a static site as part of your suite of apps, this might come handy. Good point on Github too.
