Traveling light is an enjoyable feeling, at least for me it was. I traveled around the world for quite a few years on an Osprey Escapist 20L, which I just used last week for travel as it's still my main bag. Those packing cubes are indeed great, as is folding clothes. Packing light comes with the acceptance of doing laundry, otherwise for me at least it was quite easy to do and I much preferred the mobility it gave me. I had started traveling originally with a Osprey Kestrel 38L but slowly whittled down my necessities to 20L's.
