Bit similar happened to me. I had account for about 3 years, posted like once a month, followed friends and some celebs - nothing out of ordinary. Then some day I was greeted via form that I needed to give my birthday as I apparently had not done that yet. I just threw in random date as I thought it is none of their business. Well turns out now that due to me "being under 13" my account is marked for deletion and I have 30 days to appeal with similar requirement. I tried to write them but got automated response. Ended up losing my IG account and learned valuable lesson that if I am not in control of my data I am not calling the shots either.
