I had the same problem when I first started using sshfs. I found that adding the following to my sshfs invocation did the trick: -o reconnect -o ServerAliveInt

I had the same problem when I first started using sshfs. I found that adding the following to my sshfs invocation did the trick:
-o reconnect -o ServerAliveInterval=5
