Self-Driving Big Rigs Are Coming. Is America Ready?
- mikece 4y agoIt would make sense for freight trains to be fully self-driving before freight trucks... and for inter-modal ports to autonomously move containers from rail cars to self-driving trucks that bring containers to pre-positioned/parked semi trucks to haul to a final destination (with a human behind the wheel). I don't know if the railroad unions/regulations are really that strong but I don't see self-driving freight trains happening anytime soon in the US.
