Imagine Microsoft saying something like that...you cannot install your app on Windows because <reasons>. Can you imagine the uproar at that.
But Apple gets a free pass?
For all intents and purposes Apple's iphone is the Windows equivalent in many parts of the world. If you are not on it, you do not exist. So Apple needs to be treated like the monopoly/duopoly they are.
- MichaelZuo 4y agoHuh? Microsoft 'forbids' a lot of apps from being installed on any windows OS. macOS exclusive apps, linux exclusive apps, FreeBSD exclusive apps, z/OS exclusive apps, etc..
- Aldo_MX 4y agoDo they? The last time I checked news about Windows they were making big efforts to make Linux apps run[1]. And considering the state of the art of Linux GPU Drivers, maybe using Windows will be the only feasible way to actually run Linux apps. - MichaelZuo 4y agoYes, I gave several examples. Last time I checked there were no promises that all linux apps will be compatible, only some select portion.
