Why is this so highly upvoted?
> Google’s little company deleted all the files, after they saw the April university lectures by myself, Gayle Rubin, and other On Our Backs artists. We don’t know if there was a complaint, or it was just their usual harrow of ever-changing terms and conditions.
It's literally wrong, lol. You can go on YouTube and find these lectures yourself. If people on here are susceptible to such blatant misinformation then maybe there's no hope. YouTube can and does actually delete videos - if this is what happened they'd be gone (even if the account were restored). The fact you can see the videos in question means the author is wrong.
Furthermore, where's the proof that it was ever taken down to begin with? Archive.org is a thing. People just believe anything they're told huh.
- sascha_sl 4y agoI see absolutely no reason anyone with a reputation should lie about this. It is not an uncommon occurance in platform capitalism to have automated moderation misfire either.
