Unless it's trivial or fresh in my mind I will Google the problem in the hopes of finding a library or an interesting discussion in the first page. If I can't find anything I implement it to the best of my ability. If later I find a similar problem I will grep and copy my own code. There's no shame in being curious and lazy.
