    I use Discord, some really good programming and AI communities are in it. But I use it in a container tab in FF. I have uBlock Origin installed. I don't trust the electron client to respect my privacy.

        I did not join them just for joining them. I am a Racket enthusiast, and the Racket community on Discord is really nice. There is also a GEB reading server. The fast.ai server. Others are OSSU, Rust, MSFT Python, RL group, Yannic Kilcher, sentdex, Eluether.AI, Mark Saroufim's and Aleksa Gordic's ones, wandb, ConwayLife Lounge, Hugging Face, AI Art, etc.

  It would be more helpful to give them the reasons for which their reply is unproductive. Right now it’s unclear what it is you have a problem with.

Discord UI is also all kinds of awful for personal messaging and full of gamery features. :/

  DMs work just fine. I use both Discord and Telegram btw :) "Gamery" features like voice calls, video calls, videostreaming an application or videostreaming your desktop?? :D Servers where you can talk/do/post whatever? And just drop in? Now I use both but Telegram feels more like Whatsapp to me with 1 to 1 convos and Discord is more of the Teamspeak/Mumble philosophy where its a voice room/server.

Discord drowns me in notification I neither need nor care about, is not customizable and doen't have native clients. Their "haha see we are a gamer community" is very alienating.

  Notifications depends on the servers you join and can be adjusted per server. True that it is not very customizable. And yes it is electron. They rebranded recently - https://discord.com/ https://discord.com/ Not very gamery

Discord does not offer a native UI nor is anywhere near as responsive.
