I think the upsides to k8s are relatively minor (if any) for most businesses, and the downsides are significant (tech debt and complexity). It's sometimes sold as revolutionary tech, but it's really just an incremental improvement, and the next incremental improvement will come along soon enough. DevOps is a never ending yak shave.
