They don't. They are quite good, but those editors are not even close to as configurable as Emacs. It's orders of magnitudes different, even today.
- alfiedotwtf 4y agoFor the past 20+ years, I've ignored Emacs because I chose Vim at the beginning... but only the past few months I've started to read about Emacs and now know what people mean. Emacs isn't "just an editor"... consider it a library of macros that you use to create your own editor!
