There are most likely some applications of crypto w.r.t. provenance, distributed DRM, and cross-ecosystem trading, but everyone and their mom knows that (for the time being) crypto is a volatile, speculative asset. Sure, some weirdos traded BTC like "digital gold" most rational agents traded it like an option or a future.
