Interesting. My PVs have made the house substantially cooler. There is an air gap between the panels and the roof itself - they effectively shade the roof.

- mumblemumble 4y agoAha. Well, I would not be at all surprised to discover that we ended up with a sub-par installation.
- throwaway3334 4y agoAre these solar tiles (solar shingles) or a traditional air-gaped panel?
- dd36 4y agoSame. This statement is bizarre to me. You can’t bolt solar panels directly to a roof. There is an air gap from the rails and also the edges of the panels.
- zie 4y agoYou actually can if you get the stick on variety. They don't last as long, etc, etc. But they do exist and have their uses.
