Except we're talking about the genealogy of the perjorative use of the term which runs contrary to the book which is anti-slavery fiction wherein the eponymous character dies protecting runaway slaves.
- pvg 4y agoIt's anti-slavery fiction in which the passivity and forbearance of the titular character was not to everyone's taste, among many other things. You think, I dunno, Baldwin was 'distorting' Uncle Tom's cabin? It's a weird way to put it.
