Wow, didn't realize cool things like this once existed decades ago. So many information have been buried and lost in the history. Probably need a HUGE database to store all these kind of information before they lost...
- noarchy 4y agoThankfully this one has some archives. But indeed, not everything does. Even with some backup, the Internet has not always proven itself to be a reliable means of archiving things. Companies (and their websites) vanish, and not always with a working archive somewhere. YouTube channels routinely vanish, along with their content, and in many cases it's on you to back something up (using third-party libraries).
- ataylor284_ 4y agoA good chunk of Transactor is also available at https://archive.org/details/transactor-magazines https://archive.org/details/transactor-magazines, which does happen to be a huge database to store this kind of information. It's nice to see it available elsewhere too. At first glance, the quality of the files at commodore.ca seems higher than archive.org. And having redundant sources rather than relying on one source for archiving this sort of thing is encouraging.
- rbanffy 4y agoWe should upload this collection as a second source to archive.org. If nobody else volunteers, I can do it.
