Why in today’s interconnected economies do we try to solve inflation with internal economy tools (like interest rates)? If the raise of prices originates from inflated imported prices, why not set import high import taxes to reduce the imports and rejuvenate the local economy? Why do we have to suffocate our local economy to fight imported inflation ?
