I have RSI which led to an operation as well as a collection of different input devices. A few of them are trackballs (OTOH: Microsoft Trackball Explorer which the Ploopy is shaped after, Logitech Trackman Marble FX, Trackman Marble and MX Ergo but I've also tried others like the CST). I also have a few mouse variations and I've extensively used Trackpoints in the past.
Variation certainly helps but what I keep coming back to are Apple's trackpads. The modern versions (the ones using force sensing instead of buttons) in combination with turning the sensitivity way up and enabling more mulitouch gestures are really, really good for me. I've yet to find another input device that requires less wrist movement and less force to use.
