I don't understand why I would trust this meta review site over the 100's of other meta or search sites and 10,000's of fake review sites on the web. The only "Primary Trusted Source" they use that I would trust is Consumer Reports[+], for which I'd simply read Consumer Reports directly.
Regarding their technology that "detects product mentions in Reddit posts and comments", how do they correct for mentions like "I bought this Sennheiser model xyz but it's a piece of garbage". Does that score positively because it was mentioned?
[+] My confidence in Consumer Reports has nothing to do with algorithms or software. It's based on a large number of identifiable people that work there and their well-known long-standing organization. When they say, for example, that they pay for all the products they test and don't take any money from manufacturers, I'm pretty sure that if that was a lie, someone would have blown the whistle by now and the organization is sufficiently newsworthy that I'd probably have heard about it.
