  I wish there were some laws to identify this class of substances in kitchen gear. It is very very hard to identify whether teflon and its derivatives are used in cookware, toasters, and the like. Some say PFOA free, but use similar substances. If you have a pet bird or birds - they will die if one of these overheats. I also see this as a canary in the coal mine indicator of what happens to humans, possibly at normal temperatures.

    You could just not use Teflon if you’re worried about it.

      It seems there are only two ways to assure this - stainless steel or cast iron. Every other bit of cookware seems to be suspect.
