Just this week I wanted to do a screenshot of an entire website, there wasn't any built-in solution and I didn't wanted to install an extension to the browser to do that (for privacy reasons), and from the FAQ I see that I can opt-out from the telemetry. Time to give it a try.
- Y-bar 4y agoFirefox has this built-in: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/take-screenshots-firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/take-screenshots-firefo...
- hnbad 4y agoAs does Chrome/Edge/Chromium.
- dividedbyzero 4y agoFor completeness: Mobile Safari has this as well (though only to PDF)
- DHPersonal 4y agoThe desktop version of Safari has this as well, to PNG: 1. Open Web Inspector 2. Select an element in the Elements tab. 3. Right-click and select Capture Screenshot from the menu. If you select <html> in the Elements tab you will capture a full-screen screenshot. Sometimes there are bugs, but it generally works.
- vasachi 4y agoFor what it's worth, Firefox does support website screenshotting.
- guessmyname 4y ago> Just this week I wanted to do a screenshot of an entire website https://derailer.org/paparazzi/ https://derailer.org/paparazzi/ does that, unfortunately, macOS only. Firefox also has a built-in mechanism to take scrolling-screenshots. https://cleanshot.com/ https://cleanshot.com/ is also very good, IMO, much better than Shottr.
- lukeholder 4y agoI love cleanshot the most. Tried a ton of these tools.
- woojoo666 4y ago> I didn't wanted to install an extension to the browser to do that (for privacy reasons) SingleFile [1] is an open source browser extension that saves the webpage as a single offline HTML page. I personally prefer this to screenshots because you can do things like select text in the saved HTML page. Also if you don't trust the chrome web store or firefox addon repo, you can download the extension directly from Github.
