It seems like increasingly every instance of inclement weather gets blamed on anthropogenic climate change, with the implicit existential guilt that that carries; like how since the beginning of time mankind has blamed inclement weather on anger from the gods for their sins, in accordance with their extinction myths.
Hopefully one day we can move past the effete guilt trips and symbolic political gestures and rhetoric to a more genuine desire to live in an adaptive balance with nature because of all the positive mental, physical, and environmental benefits that such a lifestyle brings, while at the same time recognizing that climate change and catastrophe have been and always will be the norm.
Humans have always been much better at adapting to changing conditions than they have been at controlling the weather.
