- matt-attack 4y agoSo by “Microsoft Search syndication agreement” I assume they mean the agreement in place that allows DDG to leverage Bing searches? My understanding is that DDG is really just a front end to Bing.
- glenstein 4y ago>Weinberg provided further details on the matter in a tweet (opens in new tab), saying: >“For non-search tracker blocking (e.g. in our browser), we block most third-party trackers. Unfortunately our Microsoft search syndication agreement prevents us from doing more to Microsoft-owned properties. However, we have been continually pushing and expect to be doing more soon.” About as good a response as you can hope for, given the circumstances. No obfuscation, no doublespeak. I'm not thrilled, but this is about trust and this feels life a reasonably accountable response.
