You've got a +1 from me. I distinctly remember scoffing at the old stagers for not getting onto the latest and greatest bandwagon. I certainly hope some of my early bloatware has died it's natural death. To their credit I was often indulged with my acronym love in the early days by the old stagers. I guess they see it as a process you have to go through, and if they see potential, are willing to let it slide with only a couple of pointers. Get back to basics. Deliver results. 80/20 analysis on everything that you do. Don't ever insert an abstraction layer until you can explain to someone within 30 seconds where the true business value lies in that layer.
