Jeffrey Gundlach says he wouldn’t be surprised if Bitcoin drops to $10k
- jleyank 4y agoNot being into crypto, is there anything that would stop bitcoin (or whatever) dropping to zero other than sheer bloody mindedness on the part of the owners?
- bitxbitxbitcoin 4y agoNope. But replace “Bitcoin” with any other form of money and the answer remains “nope.”
- melling 4y agoThe Euro, Yen, and US dollar are the same to people?
- jstx1 4y agoThere will be more than enough demand at lower prices to prevent it from going to $0.
- version_five 4y agoThat would fall under the "sheer bloody mindedness" the gp comment mentions. There is no fundamental reason. Even Zimbabwe or wherever still has some taxation power. There is some pretty weird stuff that could happen with bitcoin, because there is a lot of compute that exists, but would not be deployed once the energy costs can't be recovered with mining. Presumably at some point you get into 50% attack territory (which doesn't really have an economic incentive), and then what happens?
