Sonos glitch accidentally sent this guy $15,000 worth of speakers
- alpaca128 4y ago> Sonos hasn’t offered him anything for the inconvenience of converting his apartment into a Sonos storage unit besides the “courtesy” of free shipping labels Charge storage fees until they pick up the packages and return the money. Bet their courtesy will suddenly extend much further.
- mytailorisrich 4y agoMy understanding is that he is legally entitled to keep all these units for free so I'm thinking he'll be doing alright after a few days on eBay....
- alpaca128 4y agoHe was charged money for all of them. And Sonos won't refund him until he sends back every single package.
- mytailorisrich 4y agoWell since they have the card details I suppose they did that on purpose to apply pressure/not be out of pocket, but still I believe that they have no right to charge for items not ordered (I.e. they should refund and there is no obligation to return items) The bottom line is that if the recipient is willing to play tough and read them the law they may suddenly be offered a 'goodwill payment' for their trouble if they return the items...
- alpaca128 4y agoThe article clearly mentions the reason behind all this was a problem in their IT which led to many orders being processed multiple times including the money charges. They indeed have no right to charge for it multiple times. And imho the customer shouldn't need to return the items, they should do it. They made the mess, they should fix it.
