S3 is not particularly good in latency. I guess there are lots of cache on pageserver? Must be lots of engineering work to keep it robust.

- bean_salad_123 4y agoExactly. Latest database state and recent history is on the pageserver
- nikita 4y agoYes it’s a lot of work. But a lot less compared to building a database from scratch. There is a blog coming out from Heikki and it covers the tricky spots
