My personal experience with bars is the ratio still isn't great at face-value (counting men vs women) and even worse when you dive deeper to consider the girls-night-out groups with women interested exclusively at spending time with their friends rather than looking for their partner (think bachelorette parties with half the girls in stable relationships). Men (and women?) in IRL situations must overcome the barrier of: "is this person single or is their bf at home or in the bathroom"? Whereas dating apps provide an explicit context as to why both people are there.
