Tell HN: Instagram wont show pictures of people I follow anymore
...just pictures of random people on the social network.
That's sad; Instagram is the last social network that I still use. Why do they do this? Why is important to them to show content from people that mean nothing to me?
Are you on any social network? Are you single? I'm asking cause I kinda use Instagram as a way of meeting and contacting people. Is pretty easy to not use a social network when you are in a committing relationship.

- jeremy_k 4y agoInterestingly enough I have found Twitter's recommended tweets and showing me tweets that people I follow liked as an added benefit. I've started following many different people across tech with different view points and I feel that is a positive. The caveat to all this is that I don't know / haven't met any of these people in real life. On Instagram I mostly follow my friends, I want to know what they're up to. My usage of Instagram dropped off the map once my feed turned into - Friends Post - Friends Post - Ad - Friends Post - Suggested Post - Ad It really just feels like the content I want to see is being smothered and thus I've mostly stopped using Instagram.

- cableshaft 4y agoI just checked on my desktop and Instagram is only showing me people I'm following on my feed.
