Was being given opioids for chronic pain (nerve pain from autoimmune). but not consistently, so I'd often run out. I was constantly pushing doctors to try alternate treatments so I can deal with actual issue rather then take pain meds. They had no interest. Took me 3 years to finally get a prescription to LDN, which finally worked for me.
