Somehow this makes me think of a Homer Simpson quote: "Lisa, monkeys don't have feelings. If they did, then my experiments could be considered cruel!" Why would anyone think infants do not feel pain? Sure, they react to pain in the same way they react to being hungry or tired or wanting to be hugged by their parents. But their behavior clearly indicates - from what I have observed, not having children of my own - that they do.
