I would rather read what an algorithm does than read your implementation. Even though the implementation is more useful from an execution perspective. From the description I can write my own. It's easier for me to understand a plain description of an algorithm or technology than the code that implements it. Reading code is an investment.
Reading code is harder than reading English of the same..I understand that English is imprecise but from a detailed description of say the Chrome layout engine I could probably learn how to write a layout algorithm but the documentation for layout algorithms doesn't exist in a digestible form so you are forced to read Chromium sourcecode.
The ORC whitepaper uses branch and bound optimisation technique paired with a constraint satisfaction optimiser. I suspect I can use ORTools.
How many alternative rendering engines are there really? IMGUI, video game layout engines and video game engines, Gecko, Blink, WebKit and JavaFX and Swing and Qt QML
