- teruakohatu 4y agoOut of interest what is the use case of developing in Arm Windows on Paralells on MacOS on a MacBook? Are you writing Arm Windows applications?
- n8cpdx 4y agoI’m writing Windows apps for work, and I’d like to use my MacBook to do it. Currently everything has to be done through Remote Desktop, which works well enough, except on cellular or public Wi-Fi. With Parallels, I’ll be able to work from my apartment’s rooftop patio on nice days, and coffee shops and coworking spaces on not nice days. x86 emulation is good enough for good performance on the windows apps that I build, Visual Studio was the only real blocker; that and Microsoft’s refusal to license Windows on ARM for VMs. But really the short answer for the use case of Parallels on M1 Mac is exactly the same as the use case for Parallels on an Intel Mac, and except for licensing, the M1 works even better.
