- jschveibinz 4y agoI wonder what the result would be in terms of lower life expectancy for European, pre-medieval homes where a wood fire was constantly burning within the home—-frequently in the center of the room with only a hole in the roof to allow smoke to escape. That had to be worse by comparison.
