This has nothing at all to do with cryptocurrency. The guy got conned by an old fashioned con man over the phone, who may have used the words “cryptocurrency” once or twice.

- shkkmo 4y agoThat doesn't match what the article says, you must have skimmed it too fast. The scam was a fake cryptocurrency exchange/trading platform that looked like a real one with accounts, balances and prices for the various tokens. So far more than a guys who said "cryptocurrency" a couple of times on the phone.
