China's zero Covid strategy has saved, and continues to save, millions of lives. Over any reasonable time period, the economic benefits of having a healthy populace out weigh the temporary cost of lockdowns. Our current problems with inflation may well be in part caused by workers unable to work due to chronic illness caused by Covid (and indeed the endless rounds of acute illness too).
