  Chickens (hens) are relatively quiet, it's the roosters that need regulatin'.

    Learn from our mistake and maybe don't put the coop on the same side of your house as your bedroom windows even if you only have hens. They make plenty of noise if you're a light sleeper and they want to be let out for the day.
