I feel like this is where our litigation-based society has gotten us. Laws don't decide things anymore, outrage PR + a potential/real wave of lawsuits do. If you think about it, that doesn't seem too bad until you realize a lot of of the negative PR is manufactured by only taking part of the story and using it out of context. Sometimes even approaching propaganda or conspiracies.
