It's already a well-established type of scam in Eastern Europe. Scammers call old people late in the the evening. A Distressed Female Voice is in pain, non-specific, calling out "mama, I'm in pain, help, I'm hurt", then the call cuts away to Authoritative Male Voice who tells the old person their daughter was in accident, needs help, needs money etc. etc.
