As an added benefit, getting these workers out of their cars and onto bikes should also help reduce traffic and improve street safety. I agree. It is extremely wasteful that taxpayers bear the cost of fossil fuel externalities, like (obvious) pollution and (less obvious) poorly-designed cities that are full of traffic.
