Not really a plane so much as a expense, semi-hovering, large drone, inefficient consumer of electricity. An efficient vehicle would have significant aerodynamic properties like a glider. Instead, it's mostly pushing itself up rather than using an airfoil. Also, in terms of climate change, widespread use of anything similar would be devastating for the environment as it's an inherently extremely uneconomical mode of transportation. If we wanted better transportation for less energy, it look like a train.
