I completely agree with the Big Ball of Mud and Swap guide analogy as that has also been my experience. I am also looking for alternatives and Go seems to be the logical conclusion that I am getting to. What would you suggest?
- tomohawk 4y agoJava seems to have reached the status of Cobol - it will probably never die and there will be plenty of jobs at large enterprises. But you have to commit to learning about the swamp. The more you know about the swamp, the more valuable you are. There's a lot of money to be made in the swamp. However, it sounds like you're looking for a situation that is more open to newer approaches. Go is easy to learn. Interview around and see what they're looking for.
