No, we're still at the mercy but just on a different scale. Earlier it was the individual, now it is the population.
- southerntofu 4y agoI think that's precisely what the parent comment was being ironic about. We built industry to evade natural conditions, but through mass industrialization and planned obsolescence we're actually pushing nature to eradicate us all (and millions of other species alongside). Aren't you two saying the same thing?
- XorNot 4y agoThis is definitely not what I was saying. What I was saying is that I live in a house with a roof and electric lighting, and use modern medicine. The key word was "struggle".
