The fundamental problem here is that there's a guy squatting in the middle of the communications pipeline deciding who gets to talk and who doesn't. Of course that's going to go bad, for several unavoidable reasons. Any filtering needs to be managed at the level of me, the guy reading the stuff. I think this is clear. But maybe I'm wrong.
