  Maybe this can end the absolute insanity of packages that say "Put this somewhere and add it to your path, in this suggested way that is hard to automate and only works with one shell" somehow becoming popular again. If we could just all.agree that ~/.local/bin should be a thing, and ~/opt too, stuff might be a bit more repeatable. Modifying a global config to make a specific program work is a common Linuxy antipattern.
