I once made a video streaming platform in Python. It needed 2 big 10k euro servers to run.
I then rewrote the backend in Go, which gave a 90% performance increase.
It could now run all the streams on any normal pc.
- kaba0 4y agoPython is the slowest mainstream language by a factor of 10. You could have easily gotten that much increase by going to even JS. Go is not faster than other mainstream managed languages like C#, Java, JS .
